Environmental engineer studying Ohio River pollution

May 19, 2025

Karen Noda Morishita is pursuing a PhD in environmental engineering at the University of Cincinnati. She is studying per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances to better understand how to improve the environment. Recently, she was named Graduate Student Engineer of the Month from the UC College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS).

UC's first Marian Spencer Scholar set to graduate

Katelyn Cotton, an alum of Cincinnati's Walnut Hills High School, is the first Marian Spencer Scholar to graduate from the University of Cincinnati. Cotton, a political science major, will return for graduate school. She hopes to attend law school in the future.

UC officials opened new space for the Bearcats Pantry and Resource Center with a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The new pantry space is on the main floor of Stratford Heights, Building 16, on the Uptown campus.

UC engineer studying renewable energy sources

January 30, 2025

Katherine Schlaak came to University of Cincinnati as a student for her bachelor’s degree in physics, and stayed for her master’s degree and doctoral degree in materials science and engineering. Her PhD research in the Energy Conversion Materials lab is related to renewable energy.
